Mr. Trieu Anh Tuan shared his stories about his duties as the security officer at CICT.

Cai Lan International Container Terminal (CICT) is famous for the region's best effective security system. And the Security room, where there are "unarmed silent soldiers," has contributed to that one.

Meeting Mr. Trieu Anh Tuan - the outstanding officer of 2020, who has been working at the port since 2012, and listening to his confidence, to understand the hidden corners of the security job that are not any of us can see.

  “Security officer –no-weapons soldier in daily life”

The security officer requires a very high discipline. Whether night or day, rain or shine, he and his colleagues usually take turns patrolling and monitoring all areas in ports, especially in critical areas, to ensure security. They have detected and promptly prevented fraudulent acts of theft at the port by trained skills and professional eyes.

CICT owns the latest security systems with more than 100 advanced cameras installed to monitor the whole port. Therefore, the security staff working in the monitoring position will become the friend of the camera system.

Mr. Tuan said that many people thought it was a leisure task with a high salary when you only had to sit around. However, it takes much effort to do this task. Especially at night, you are tired and sleepy but do not dare to ignore even for a moment because this is the time when fraud and theft are most likely to happen.

“Security Officer – Actors have many nuances.”

The first impression people feel when meeting Mr. Tuan is an earnest and determined person, very similar to a soldier who has experienced the battlefield. However, when talking and interacting with colleagues, he is very gentle and cheerful. When dealing with a security breach situation, he is very adamant, but he is also diplomatic and flexible when needed.

He shared that the biggest challenge is handling situations when customers break security regulations. Security staff has to communicate with many people with different characteristics. It is necessary to be ingenuity to make the job go smoothly to protect the port's interests without making customers uncomfortable.

  “Security room – A closed team”

In Mr. Tuan's opinion, the security department is like a closed team, unable to miss even one position. They support each other with their weaknesses to become a strong team, guaranteed the Port's security. And especially for him, CICT is also the second home where he plans to stay for the rest of his working years before retiring.
