As one of the most modern deep-water ports in the North, Cai Lan International Container Terminal (CICT) always concentrates on fire fighting and prevention. Not only in the office area, but CICT has also invested in a fire protection system at the wharf with up-to-date systems and technical design documents approved by the Fire Police of Quang Ninh Province to ensure the safety of people and property.

The fire protection system at CICT’s wharfs is arranged as follows:

- Fixed sea-water pumping station (located in the Berth 2): using a pump system of Fairbanks Morse Pump (US), installed according to NFPA 20 standards, tested and certified by UL&FM organizations for quality. The pump systems include Fire pump, Jockey pump and Pump controller.

  - In the event of a fire incident, the person in charge will start the water pump station, sucking water from the sea with a flow of 194m3/h to supply 23 fire hydrants installed at the foot of the light poles and 27 water throats, ensuring water spray to all areas of the harbor.

  CICT is highly appreciated by competent authorities in fire safety inspection regularly organized every year, becoming a bright spot of fire protection in the area.
